Trick or Treat Maties!

Stecher Sea-dogs.(Brigham's hat doesn't last more than 10 seconds but buckets are fun)
"I ooot Daddy"
Pirate Princess. Check out those patent leather boots!

As usual, the best part about Halloween is the face paint. Sam LOVES his
whiskars. They make him feel older.

Trick-or-treat!

Combined effort by Luke et moi!
Samuel's (et moi)

Alena's "traditional" pumpkin. This was dubbed most important by the kids because "it is what you normally think of".
Eli's design and the only one I cannot take any credit for.

Dewberry Farms

I had such a hard time deciding which pictures to put on this post. If you're ever in or near Brookshire, TX don't miss Dewberry Farms. There was so much to do, we couldn't get enough.

The Smell of Pumpkin . . .

Makes it feel like Fall!

Posted by PicasaEli and Matt were gone camping and I got to looking through some blogs Friday night. Saturday morning I woke up and got a little crazy. It started with Pumpkin Granola, then spread to Choc-chip pumpkin waffles, Pumpkin (baked) doughnut holes, Pumpkin granola bars, and Pumpkin-Apple pie. Oh my goodness.

Houston Symphony at Jones Hall

During this pregnancy I've really struggled to get out of the house with my kiddos. Not only was the heat unbearable, I don't walk well or quickly and my active 2 yr old and lifting kids in and out of carts is really challenging. Luckily my big boys are old enough and strong enough to do a lot for me. Still, only since it has cooled off have we done more than was absolutely necessary. Thank heavens for our pool. Our Co-op here is marvelous and field trips are unbeatable. We paid $4 a ticket to attend a wonderful concert at Jones Hall in Houston. The kids were angels. Once the music began Brigham didn't leave my lap(I was too cheap to buy him his own $4 ticket). Actually that turned out well though. He was smitten by the "youd!" parts and the drums. In co-op, the music teacher has a forte/piano sign(f and p). Brigham LOVES switching between them and talks about it all the time. I made him a f and p sign and let him hold it during the concert and he would say "youd gain!". What a fun time.

Family Fun

I love this picture. You know those Saturdays where you work hard all day and finally need some family time. Well, it was late by the time we got around to family time. Still, we had SUCH a fun night. Chilly though it was, the boy swam. We made a fire in Matt's firepit and cooked tin-foil dinners. I'm sure you also know how good tin-foil dinners taste when you're absolutely starving!

Brigham loves to rob our pepper plant of baby peppers and eat them. He also eats some of the Persimmons that fall off the tree with his daddy.

The Miracle of Rain

Posted by PicasaThe only thing I feel the need to say is that we're in a serious, serious drought. This was probably more rain in this day than we've recieved over the entire year. I think it was 3 or 4 ". It didn't put a dent in what we need, but it sure felt good.
